Gary H. Coleman

      Gary H. Coleman, 71, of rural Fairfield, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      A funeral was held at 11 a.m. today at Round Prairie Baptist Church south of Lockridge, with the Rev. Kevin Dice and Aaron Helterbran officiating. Burial was in Lambirth Cemetery.

      Memorials have been established to Round Prairie Baptist Church and Lambirth Cemetery.

      Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.

       Mr. Coleman was born Dec. 5, 1936, on a farm south of Mount Pleasant, the son of Stephen E. and Iva E. Young Coleman. He married Gloria Gideon Oct. 31, 1958. They later divorced. He then married Kay Clark Sept. 17, 1966.
