Gary Shettler

Gary Shettler was born November 3, 1941 in Washington County near Wellman, Iowa, the son of Earl and Mary Elda (Slaubaugh) Shettler. He was baptized in his youth at the Wellman Mennonite Church. Gary lived in the Coralville and Iowa City area and worked in the supply room at the University of Iowa Hospital for 37 years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Gary passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center in Iowa City at the age of 76 years.

Gary is survived by two brothers: Cecil Shettler of Wellman, Kermith (Sharon) Shettler of Sigourney; two sisters: Mary Shettler of Iowa City, Rachel (Craig) Koehler of Washington; three sisters-in-law: Mary K. Shettler of Columbus Junction, Sandra Shettler of South English, Rose Shettler of Cold Water, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruth Ann Shettler; and three brothers: Donald, Carl and Fred.
