Gayla Jean Van Auken Boyd

      COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Gayla Jean Van Auken Boyd, 50, of Columbus Junction, died Monday, May 28, 2007 in Columbus Junction following a two-year battle with cancer.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 1 in the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction with the Rev. Harry Swan and the Rev. Catherine Whitlatch officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31 in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Iowa City Hospice.

      Mrs. Boyd was born Sept. 9, 1956 in Iowa City, the daughter of Richard and Shirley (Brown) Metzger and James Raymond Van Auken. She married Steven Craig Boyd on Aug. 14, 1982 in Columbus Junction.
