WEST DES MOINES ? Gayle ?Shorty? Burkum, 81, of West Des Moines, formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at his home.
Private funeral services will be held Monday, April 20, at McLaren?s Chapel in West Des Moines. Burial will be in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson?s Disease Foundation for research.
