George Edward Mulcahy

RICHLAND ? George Edward Mulcahy, 78, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, in the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Graveside funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Richland Friends Cemetery with the Rev. Carl Benge officiating. Gould Funeral Home in Richland is assisting the family.

Mr. Mulcahy was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., the son of Francis and Viola (Wood) Mulcahy. He married Charletta LaVerne Newell Randolph. She preceded him in death, in 1983.

He grew up in New York and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School. He served in the Army and worked construction as a drywall hanger.

Surviving are one son, Raymond Randolph of Jourdanton, Texas; one daughter, Tracy Taylor of Palm Springs, Calif; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Huey Mulcahy of Poughkeepsie, N .Y., and Jim Mulcahy of Las Vegas, Nev.; and one sister, Viola of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two children, Bill Randolph, and Melvin Randolph Jr.; and four brothers and sisters.
