George L. Carruthers

George L. Carruthers, 60, of West Burlington, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with family present from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the chapel, with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating. His body has been cremated. A private family inurnment will be in Forest Home Cemetery. The Henry County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites.

Memorials have been established for Lacey Park in Keosauqua, Troop 40 Boy Scouts of America and Great River Hospice.

He was born Dec. 5, 1947, in Fairfield, the son of Russell and Alberta Lawson Carruthers.
