George N. Yoder

KALONA - George N. Yoder, 94, of Wellman, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a short illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at the West Union Mennonite Church in rural Parnell. Burial will be in the Upper Deer Creek Cemetery in rural Wellman. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Memorials may be made to Wellman Ambulance, Wellman Senior Center or Christian Aid Ministries.

      Mr. Yoder was born Feb. 19, 1914, in rural Wellman, the son of Arthur G. and Lydia (Swartzendruber) Yoder. He married Leona Byler on Jan. 9, 1938, at Upper Deer Creek Mennonite Church.
