George W. Lewis August 31, 1929 - October 5, 2005
George William Lewis, 76, of Atalissa, died at his home as a result of acute leukemia.
The funeral service was at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 at the Cedar Valley United Methodist Church in rural West Liberty with Pastor Betsey Neipert officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery in West Liberty. Memorials have been established to Cedar Valley United Methodist Church, Heifer Project International or to the donor's choice. Henderson-Barker Funeral Home in West Liberty was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife; and two sisters, Catherine Hladky of Indianola, and Mary Ness of Iowa City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law.
