Gerald Deon Bender
KALONA ? Gerald Deon Bender, 69, of Parnell, died Monday, May 21, 2012, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness.
A celebration of life will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at the West Union Mennonite Church in rural Parnell. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in rural Parnell. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Memorials may be directed to the Mennonite Disaster Service, West Union Mennonite Church or Iowa City Hospice.
