Geraldine E. Jewett

Geraldine E. "Jerry" Jewett, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, Oct. 28, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 1:30 p.m. at the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Sue Ann Cubbage officiating.

Jerry was born on Oct. 21, 1920 in Fairfield, the daughter of Harold and Gladys Conover Slusher. On January 1, 1939 she was united in marriage to Franklin Jewett in Memphis, Mo.

A graduate of Fairfield High School, she worked at the Mt. Pleasant News for 38 years in advertising, and was a member of Wesley Chapel. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards.

She is survived by her husband and two sons, Fred Jewett and his wife Pam and Gary Jewett, all of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Her parents and one daughter, Janet, preceded her in death.
