L. Geraldine Keiser, 98, formerly of Richland, died Wednesday, September 2, 2020, in Gadsden, Ala. She was born Dec. 11, 1921, to James Cecil and Dora Mae Camp Yardley near Pollock, Mo. Geraldine attended country school and Pollock High School and married Claude H. McEntire on March 26, 1938, in Unionville, Mo., and he died Sept. 30, 1967. She married Lyle Keiser on June 4, 1971, and he died Nov. 18, 2007. Geraldine worked for Nash Rambler during World War II and operated movie theaters with Claude for many years. They also operated a restaurant in Ollie and she worked for Universal Producing Co. in Fairfield until 1974. She then became a nurse's aid working in the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield and for Parkview Nursing Home until 1984. Geraldine was a member of the Richland Women's Club, Rubio Women's Club, Gideon's and attended Ollie Baptist Church and Richland Friends Church.
Surviving are her children, James (Linda) McEntire of Knoxville, Tenn., Donald (Jayne) Keiser of Oxford, Iowa, Kenneth (Karla) Keiser of Athens, Ala., Twilla (Dwayne) Westercamp of Omaha, Neb., and Alice Stortz of Attalla, Ala.; 10 grandchildren, Rochelle (Damian) and Melissa (David), Matthew (Nelli), Nikki (Daniel), Ben, Kristel (Heath), Jae (Brent), Sam, Jamie (Alisa) and Cary (Jamie); nine great-granddaughters; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Claude and Lyle; daughter, Claudia Geraldine McEntire; son, Ronald Keiser; son-in-law, Richard "Butch" Stortz; and her brother, Robert Allen Yardley.
Geraldine, or Gerry as she was known to many, held a firm belief in her faith in God. She was loved as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and true friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Ollie Cemetery with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Visitation with the family will be at Gould Funeral Home in Richland from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. preceding the graveside service. Memorials may be mailed to the Donor's Choice. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is assisting the family.
