Geraldine Pacha

FAIRFIELD ? Geraldine M. Pacha, 88, of Fairfield and formerly of the Salina community, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, in Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 23, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Thursday at the church. Memorials have been established to Hospice Compassus, St. Mary Catholic Church and St. Joseph Cemetery. The Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Pacha was born Nov. 23, 1927, in Clear Creek Township of Keokuk County, the daughter of Frank P. and Mary M. (Ollinger) Seaba. She married Donald A. Pacha in 1950 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney.

She grew up in Sigourney, where she attended school through the 11th grade. She graduated from Ottumwa Heights Academy and attended Ottumwa Heights College for two years. She taught in the rural schools. She and her husband lived in Ollie, moving to the Salina area in 1959 and to Fairfield in 2002. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, Altar and Rosary Society, the Richwood Willing Workers and the Fairfield Lions Club.

Surviving are her husband, Donald; two sons, Philip Pacha of Springfield, Illinois, and Mark Pacha and wife Rachel of Omaha, Nebraska; four granddaughters; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Rosemary Elben.
