Gertrude Kiefer

      KEOTA - Gertrude Kiefer, 98, of Keota died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006 in the Washington County Hospital following a brief illness.

      A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 in the Holy Trinity Parish-St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper with the Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be in the Holy Trinity Cemeteries-St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Visitation will be from 9 until 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church. Memorials may be made to the Wilson Memorial Library in Keota. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mrs. Kiefer was born June 28, 1908 in Harper, the daughter of Peter and Katherine (Ludwig) Rettler. She married Leo Kiefer on June 27, 1935 in Harper.
