Gilbert Conrad Meierotto

      Gilbert Conrad Meierotto, 75, of Salem, died at 1:32 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, at home.

      Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Houghton, with the Rev. Apo Mpanda officiating.

      Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the church, where a rosary was recited at 3 p.m. Family visitation will be from 5:30-7 p.m., with a Christian Wake Service at 6 p.m.

      Memorials to St. John's Catholic Church or Hospice of Central Iowa may be left at the church.

      Mr. Meierotto was born April 17, 1932, in Lee County, the son of Conrad and Marie Kruse Meierotto. He married Doris Hellweg May 29, 1954, in St. Paul. She died May 27, 1989. He married Roberta Kientz Statler Feb. 28, 1998 in Houghton.
