Giles William Escher
KALONA - Giles William Escher, 93, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at Washington Care Center in Washington, following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona with the Rev. Francis Slupski officiating. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. this afternoon at the funeral home, where family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. and at 7 p.m.
Mr. Escher was born Sept. 1, 1912, near Richmond, to Joseph and Anna (TeBockhorst) Escher. He married Eileen Franzen in Washington on Feb. 14, 1950.
