Cairo, Missouri
Glenn L. Leathers, Jr., beloved husband, father and grandfather of Cairo, Missouri passed away on January 4th, 2025. Glenn was born on January 31st, 1936 in Fairfield, Iowa to Glenn L. (Sr.) and Rebba (Keeler) Leathers. He married Sandra K. (Flayharty) Leathers on August 11th, 1957.
Glenn grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1955. He served in the Iowa National Guard and then lived and worked in several states including Missouri, Colorado, and Wyoming, wherever his skills were needed. In April of 1976, he and Sandra purchased a farm in Cairo, Missouri where he spent the rest of his days enjoying his land and cattle. Glenn was a master carpenter who built several of his own houses and barns along with many other buildings in the local area. He also worked for Orschelns Farm and Home for many years. He enjoyed gardening, squirrel hunting, his many dogs and spending time in the timber of his farm.
He is survived by his wife Sandra; son Jonathan and wife Shannon of Edmond, Oklahoma and their sons, Steven and Brian; son Benjamin and his wife Mary Ellen of Cairo, Missouri and their sons Alex and Lee and their daughters Janie (Leathers) Bruce and her husband Tim and Lori (Leathers) Hudson and her husband Lance; and his daughter Jessica Leathers of Cairo, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Leathers, sister Betty (Leathers) Keller and sister Pat (Leathers) Frieberg; and two infant sons, John and James Leathers, all of Fairfield, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Pathway-Millard Funeral Home in Moberly, Missouri from 3-5 PM on Thursday, January 9th, 2025.
