Grace Marie Gent

      KEOTA - Grace Marie Gent, 85, of Keota, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at Halcyon House in Washington, following a brief illness.

      A Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, at Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with the Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m. and a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County, Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Association.

      Mrs. Gent was born March 8, 1920, in rural Ollie, to J. Peter and Elizabeth (Vogel) Dumont. She married Damian Gent on Sept. 11, 1940, in Harper. He preceded her in death in 1998.

      Mrs. Gent graduated from Sigourney High School. She and her husband lived in lived in the South English community until moving to Keota in 1985. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish-St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed her family and friends, flowers, crafts, playing cards with friends and traveling.
