GREGORY R. PREVETT

Gregory R. Prevett, 58, of Hillsboro, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

Greg was born on January 22, 1962, in Fairfield, Iowa,

the son of George William

and Rosa Lee (Rupe) Prevett Sr. He was united in

marriage to Nancy Lynn Millard on August 19, 1989 at Oakland Mills, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 18, 2005. Greg worked in different hog confinements before moving to Hillsboro, where he went to work for local farmers. He worked for Ceco Building Systems of Mt. Pleasant as a supervisor of welding. Greg loved to tinker in the garage, rebuilding cars, and had received several trophies for his different coon hunting competitions. He was always there to help his friends when they needed help, watching the hummingbirds. He was a Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He is survived by his mother, Rosa Prevett, of Mt. Pleasant; his children, Ivy (Scott) Morris of Hillsboro, Jacque (Steve) McDowell of Salem, Greg J. (Julie) Prevett of Sigourney, Samantha (Richie) Simmons of Jefferson and Heather (Colten) Fett of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren; his brother, Roger (Catherine) Prevett of Stockport; his sister, Renee (Curt) Ridinger of Mt. Pleasant; along with several nieces and nephews.

Greg was preceded in death by his father, his wife and one brother, George W. Prevett Jr.

A Celebration of Greg's life will be held at a later date. According to his wishes cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
