Harlan D. Lemke
Harlan D. Lemke, 68, of Winfield, died Aug. 25, 2007 while fishing in Olds.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Winfield Open Bible Church with Rev. Greg Carr officiating.
Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, Tuesday, Aug. 28 from 5-7 p.m.
Mr. Lemke was born March 30, 1939 in Watertown, S. D. to Edward and Alta Struss Lemke. He married Beckie Franklin in 1968. They later divorced. He married Karen Beard Oct. 19, 1975 and was later divorced.
He retired from the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in 1999 after 18 years. He was a member of the Winfield Open Bible Church and the Winfield Lions Club. He loved fishing, jigsaw puzzles, auctions, hunting and especially his dog "Petey".
Lemke is survived by three sons: Brian Lemke of Olathe, Kan., Greg Lemke of Winfield and Richard Lemke of Burlington, along with one daughter, Wendie Conner of Winfield.
Also surviving are two brothers: Clayton of Brookings, S. D., Marlo of Hendricks, Minn.; plus two sisters June McKee and Marcile Djonne of Clearlake, S. D. and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial has been established in his name at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield.
