Harold E. Cole May 12, 1924 - November 11, 2003

Harold Eugene "Squirt" Cole, 79, of New London, died at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

      The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Elliott Chapel in New London, with the Rev. Rod Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery in New London. Visitation will be after noon on Friday, Nov. 14 at the chapel with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established to Great River Oncology Service.

      Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Brenda Alderson of Crawfordsville; two sons, Tom Cole of Jamison, Pa., and James Cole of New London:; a stepson, Tracey Barker of Schertz, Texas; and six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

      In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Van Barker.
