Harold S. Derby
BRIGHTON-Harold S. Derby, 82, of Brighton, died Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Washington Care Center in Washington, following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 15, at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton, with military rites accorded. Family visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Brighton Volunteer First Responders.
Mr. Derby was born on Aug. 11, 1921, near Rubio, to William "Bill" and Mary (Downing) Derby. He married Velma I. Norton in Kahoka, Mo., on June 1, 1940.
