HAROLD KEITH WATSON
Pleasant Plain
Harold Keith Watson went home to be with His Lord and Savior on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, while doing what he loved so much and that was working in his machine shed.
Keith was born to Carlos and Helen Watson on a farm west of Pleasant Plain, near Veo, Iowa. He graduated from Pleasant Plain High School in 1953. He served in the Army during the years of 1954-55. He spent his time as a jeep driver chauffeuring officers around from place to place. Shortly after serving, Keith met Shirley, they fell in love, and the two were married Sept. 28, 1962. With the marriage, Keith gained an instant family of two children, John and Jeannette, from Shirley's first marriage. Keith lovingly adopted the young children and raised them as his own.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Helen Watson; his eldest brother, Charles (Darlene) Watson; his youngest brother, Gordon (Karen) Watson; and by his beloved wife, Shirley.
He leaves behind his son John (Celia) Watson, daughter, Jeannette (Tim) Haynie; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Keith was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Plain Friends Church. Despite his quiet demeaner most times concerning his faith he leaves behind a great heritage of faith in Jesus Christ in the life of his family. He was also a member of the Richland American Legion and Fairfield Farm Bureau.
Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Pleasant Plain Friends Church. Services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at the church ith Pastor Kevin Rohr officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Pleasant Plain Cemetery. The family requests that masks be worn and people social distance. No luncheon will take place.
Memorials may be made to Iowa Kidney Foundation. Donations may be left at the funeral home or the church.
