Harold Wayne "Weiner" Chalupa, 84, of Washington, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

A celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. Thursday,

Dec. 30, 2021, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with Pastor Darren Brown officiating. The service will

be available via Livestream

at the Beatty-Peterseim Facebook page. Family will receive friends from 5 to

7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at the funeral home. A general memorial in the name of Harold Wayne Chalupa has been established.

Harold Wayne Chalupa was born Nov. 16, 1937, in Richmond, Iowa, the son of Fred Henry and Olive Jeanette (Wallace) Chalupa. He attended Richmond schools and was united in marriage to Joanne Elaine Knott on Nov, 28, 1980, in Washington, Iowa.

He was a member of Grace Community Church, and worked at Modine MFG for 28 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed woodworking, mechanic work, being a general handyman and hanging out with friends at the Wagon Wheel.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Chalupa of Washington; children, Joe Chalupa of Billings, Mont., Tammy (Carl) Cook of Kaiser, Mo., Connie (Steven) Banko of El Paso, Texas, and Stephanie (Jim) Dawson of Independence, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Malou Chalupa of Burlington, Iowa; sister, Norma Loeffler of West Liberty, Iowa; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lauren, Ferd, Bob, Jane Hensel, Jeanette Banks and infant brother Junior; daughter, Cindy Chalupa; and son, Jeff Chalupa.
