Hazel Bereneita Laffoon

      CHARITON - Hazel Bereneita Laffoon, 77, of Keota died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 in the Maplewood Manor.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, in Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.

      Mrs. Laffoon was born March 8, 1930 in Chariton, the daughter of John Emanuel and Myrtle Francis (Carr) Norden. She married Paul Laffoon. He preceded her in death.

      She worked as a physical therapy assistant.

      Surviving are a daughter, Melissia (Laffoon) Greine of Keota; four sons, John Laffoon of Iowa City, Leonard Laffoon of Earlham, Thomas Laffoon of California, and David Laffoon of Grimes; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents.
