Hazel Cruikshank Brown, 90, of Bloomfield, Iowa, passed away Dec. 6, 2020, at the Bloomfield Care Center.

She was born May 3, 1930, in Davis County, Iowa, to Guy and Nellie Piper Hill. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1947. She married Harold Lee Cruikshank on April 3, 1948, in Bloomfield. They lived on

a farm south of Bloomfield until Harold's death on June 27, 1983. On Oct. 5, 1985, she married Lawrence T. Brown and moved to the Packwood, Iowa, area. He passed away Nov. 3, 2008.

Hazel was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church, Davis County Genealogy Society, life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 504 of Richland, Iowa, life member of the Davis County Sheep Producers, life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and a member of the Davis County Guerilla Raid Society.

She is survived by a son, Lowell Cruikshank and family; daughter, Nancy Clancy; grandsons, Lance (Angie) Sprouse and Todd (Lora) Sprouse; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and sisters, Avon Hill, Christine Herman, Irene Bride, Marie Ingersoll and Lucille Spurgeon.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Leslie Dotson officiating. Burial will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield. Open visitation without the presence of family will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Masks are required for the service and visitation.
