Hazel L. Corey

      Hazel L. Corey, 98, of Washington died Monday, March 5, 2007 in the Washington County Hospital following a short illness.

      Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8 in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Julie Poulsen officiating. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Washington or to Halcyon House.

      Mrs. Corey was born March 2, 1909 in rural Morning Sun, the daughter of John August and Ora Emily (Walker) Venghaus. She married Elwyn Wesley Corey on Aug. 13, 1930 in her parents' home in Mount Union.
