Hazen Francis Loan

      LONE TREE - Hazen Francis Loan, 70, of rural Iowa City, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque.

      A Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lone Tree, with the Rev. Vitalis Torwel officiating, and parish life coordinator Carol Kaalberg assisting. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery. Following committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the American Legion Hall in Lone Tree. Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. with a rosary prayer service at 7 p.m. at Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home in Lone Tree. A general memorial has been established.

      Mr. Loan was born Feb. 27, 1935, in Iowa City, to Hazen A. and Irene (Dembinski) Loan. He married Lura I. Simon on May 3, 1958, in Riverside.
