HELEN CRAIG BOWMAN

Garfield, Ark.

Helen Craig Bowman, 89 years, 1 month and 14 days, of Garfield, Ark., passed from this life on June 12, 2020, in Rogers, Ark., after a 15-year courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Helen was a hard fighter to the end.

Helen was born to Retheal Grace Cole Craig and Ernest John Roland Craig on April 29, 1931, in Ducktown, Tenn.m the eldest of six children.

Helen is survived by her youngest brother, Darrell Craig of Iowa.

Helen grew up in Tennessee and married Robert John Bowman, who swept her off her feet (her words) on June 1, 1950. Together they raised two children, son Robert John Bowman, Garfield, and daughter Nancy DeAnn Hoambrecker, Iowa.

Helen worked in the medical field as a surgical dental assistant most of her adult life, always taking time for family and friends. In 1993, Helen moved to Bella Vista, Ark., to retire and be near her son, Robert.

Helen loved to shop for antiques and entertain family and friends with her beautiful dishes, wonderful cooking and the best iced tea ever! No one set a more beautiful table than Helen Bowman. Helen had a generous spirit, a kind heart and always was a lady. Helen loved her family, even as Alzheimer's disease stole her memories, she loved her family.

Helen was Jehovah Witness and a member of Kingdom Hall, Bella Vista, Ark.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers and one granddaughter.

Helen is survived by her brother, her children, five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends who miss Helen greatly.

The family thanks the many dedicated health professionals and Alzheimer's support groups, too numerous to list, who cared for our Helen the last six years.

A private Mass will be celebrated by her nephew-in-law, Father Rick Hobbs at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Van Buren, Ark., honoring her life, at a later date.
