Helen Irene Mathias

RICHLAND ? Helen Irene Mathias, 89, of Richland, died Wednesday, Dec 8, 2010, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

    Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at Woolson Friends Church south of Richland with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Tipton. Open visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning immediately preceding the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Woolson Friends Church or Hospice of Washington County.

    Mrs. Mathias was born May 11, 1921, in Bloomfield, the daughter of Kost Wright and Lucy Irene (Benge) Daugherty. She married Mearl Mathias on Sept. 27, 1941, in Missouri.
