Helen M. Yakish

      LONE TREE - Helen M. Yakish, 87, of Shellsburg, formerly of Lone Tree, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 in the Rock Ridge Residential Care Center in Shellsburg.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 19 in the Parker's Grove Baptist Church in rural Shellsburg. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Lone Tree United Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. A memorial fund has been established.

      Mrs. Yakish was born Jan. 24, 1920, the daughter of Ernest Y. and Maudie Jane (Watkinson) Petru. She married Lloyd King Yakish on Sept. 15, 1938.
