Helen Marie VanTuyl Stigge

Helen Marie VanTuyl Stigge, 91, of Montrose, formerly of Prairie Grove for 57 years, died at 4:35 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Montrose Health Care Center.

      The funeral service will be held concurrent with a memorial service for her daughter, Marla Stigge Morgan, at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 18 at the Chapel of Hass-Thielen Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Parker officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home, with family present from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday. A memorial has been established to Burlington Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include a son, Merwin Stigge of Detroit Lakes, Minn.; four daughters, Doris Semadeni of Yucaipa, Calif., Lois Walker of West Burlington, Nyla Imler of Amity, Ark., and Janene McGuire of Aylmer, Ontario, Canada; 11 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd VanTuyl of Brookings, Ore., and Mark Van Tuyl of Sioux City; and a sister, Viola Bailey of Owasso, Mich.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a granddaughter, two brothers and one sister.
