Henry 'Ham' Jackson Hamilton

      Henry "Ham" Jackson Hamilton, 82, of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Washington County Hospital in Washington following a brief illness.

      A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Darryl Carr officiating. Interment, with military honors conducted by Henry County Honor Guard, will take place at Forest Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

      Visitation began at noon today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-7:30 p.m.

      A memorial has been established to the Washington Care Center.

      Mr. Hamilton was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Washington County, Iowa, the son of Ralph E. and Anna Reeves Hamilton. He married Bina Louise Davis in Washington, Iowa. She preceded him in death. He later lived with his longtime companion Margaret Ackles until her death in 1983.
