Henry "Ham" Jackson Hamilton, 82, of Washington died Tuesday March 25, 2008 at the Washington County Hospital following a brief illness.
Visitation began at noon today, March 26, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the family present from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darryl Carr officiating. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, with military honors conducted by Henry County Honor Guard.

He was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Washington County, the son of Ralph and Anna Reeves Hamilton. He married Bina Davis in Washington; she preceded him in death. He later lived with his longtime companion, Margaret Ackles.
Having attended school in Washington County, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at Perfex, the Ordnance Plant in Middletown and Henry County Mental Health, and briefly for Redlinger Sanitation in recycling following his retirement. He also did work as a painter and carpenter.
He is survived by two stepsons, Jim Deao Sr. of West Chester and Bob Deao of Lockridge; his stepdaughter, Linda Pohren and her husband Jim of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
His parents, wife Bina, friend Margaret Ackles, brother, Pete Hamilton, and one grandson preceded him in death.
