KALONA ? Henry A. Mullet, 94, of Kalona died Saturday, June 3, 2017, in the Pleasantview Home in Kalona.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 9, at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in rural Kalona with the Rev. Don Patterson, the Rev. Steve Nelson and the Rev. Dennis Mullet officiating. Burial will be in the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm., Thursday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church and Iowa City Hospice.
Mr. Mullet was born May 6, 1923, in Wayne County, Ohio, the son of Absalom and Fannie (Shetler) Mullet. He married Eudora Christner on Aug. 28, 1951, at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church.
He moved to the Kalona community in 1947. He owned and operated Mullet Trucking for 41 years, and later cleaned windows for Robert Erb and Gary Erb. He was a member of the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church and Coffee Club. He enjoyed putting together puzzles.
Surviving are his wife, Eudora, of Kalona; five daughters, Sharon Hollar and husband Jerry of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Melody Miller and husband James L. of Kalona, Karen Mullet of Sarasota, Florida, Lori Eash and husband Neal of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Rachel Ross and husband Ron of Sarasota, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ervin Mullet of LaGrange, Indiana, and Jacob Mullet of Millersburg, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, John Miller; three sisters, Anna Weaver, Katie Yoder, and Ella Yoder; two brothers, Dan Mullet, and Simon Mullet; and one stepsister, Ella Stutzman.
