Henry Tyner Traut

Henry Tyner Traut, 86, formerly of Mt. Pleasant died April 29, 2000, at Friendship Village of Dublin, Ohio.

The family graveside service will be conducted by Tidd Funeral Home of Hilliard, Ohio, Thursday morning, May 4, at the Union Cemetery in Columbus. A public memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Friendship Village, 6000 Riverside Drive in Dublin, Ohio. Doris Anderson of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Ohio, will officiate.

Mr. Traut was born Nov. 25, 1913, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Fred and Ina Tyner Traut. He married Evelyn Gunter in 1940. He attended Iowa Wesleyan College and received a degree in dentistry from the University of Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army as a captain during WWII and practiced dentistry in Mt. Pleasant. After moving to the Columbus area in 1969, he served the community as a dentist in Lancaster, Ohio and then in Columbus, Ohio until his retirement in 1983. He was a lifelong member of Rotary, and a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Ohio.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Traut of Denver, Colo.; two grandsons; and a lady friend, Toby Willis of Dublin, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one brother, Edwin Traut.
