Herschel Mendenhall

Herschel Mendenhall, 89,of Wayland, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Parkview Home in Wayland.

      The memorial service was at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at Pleasant Plain Friends Church, with the Revs. Stan Bauer and Karen Mendenhall officiating. The body has been deeded to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. Burial at Pleasant Plains Friends Cemetery will be at a later date. Memorials have been established to Quakerdale Children's Home, Pleasant Plain Friends Church and William Penn University. Gould Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Survivors include a brother, Charles and his wife Marina Mendenhall of Earlham.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother; an adopted son, Russell; and a brother, Orville.
