Howard F. Nicholson

      IOWA CITY - Howard F. Nicholson, 54, of Iowa City, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after a fight with colon cancer.

      Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church with the Rev. David Hitch officiating. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Iowa City. Memorials may be made to the Nicholson Children's Education Fund or to Colon Cancer research at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center in care of the University of Iowa Foundation.

      Mr. Nicholson was born June 13, 1953, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, the son of James B. and Alice (Walker) Nicholson. He married Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Donohue on Oct. 6, 1984, in Iowa City.
