Howard H. Mabeus September 26, 1915 - March 16, 2004

Howard Herman Mabeus, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 20 at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Dr. Edward Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Point Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 19 at Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to Flex Services, Pleasant Point Cemetery and Pleasant Point Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry and his wife Martha Mabeus and Terry and his wife Deb Mabeus, all of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Judy and her husband Bill Cash and Karen Mabeus, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Marilyn and her husband John Coghlan of Webster City; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many stepchildren and stepgrandchildren; and three brothers, Ralph and his wife Elvira Mabeus of Winfield, Richard and his wife Orpha Mabeus of Wever and Earl and his wife Norma Mabeus of Ottumwa.

      In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents.
