Howard J. Greiner

      Howard J. Greiner, 82, of Washington, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at McCreedy Home in Washington, following a lengthy illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington, with the Rev. Ed O'Melia officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Friday, Jan. 14, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m., and from 6 to 8 p.m. Prayer services will be held at 7:30 that evening at the funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established for charitable organizations.

      Mr. Greiner was born on Sept. 6, 1922, in Washington County, to Charles F. and Clara K. (Hammes) Greiner. On May 2, 1944, he married Marcella Kaska in East Pleasant Plain.
