Howard LeRoy Cook, 64, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Nov. 29, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 3, at Raymond Funeral Home of Fairfield, with the Rev. Richard White officiating. Burial is at McDowell Cemetery, near Pleasant Plain.

Howard LeRoy Cook was born Feb. 19, 1943, the son of Jasper and Annabell Hagans Cook. He retired from Adrian Trucking in 2000 due to health reasons. He was a member of VFW Dimmitt-Vorhies Post #2271, having served in the U.S. Army with Co. C 249th Engineering Battalion. He lived most of his life in Fairfield, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his dog, Baby Girl.
He is survived by four sons, Howard Cook Jr. and Jeffrey Cook of Kansas City, Mo., and Jasper Cook and Theopile Cook of Luxenberg, Germany; a stepson, Michael Howard of Fairfield; a daughter, Jennifer Howard of Fairfield; three sisters, Nancy Billingsley and her husband Kenneth and Linda Gridley and her husband Patrick, both of Fairfield, and Joyce Morkin of Palmyra, Mo.; three brothers, Larry Cook and his wife Paula of New London, John Cook and his wife Najla of Laytonsville, Md., and Delbert Houston of Fairfield; and seven grandchildren.
His parents, son Tory Cook, and stepson Kelly Howard preceded him in death.
