Howard O. Long

      Howard O. Long, age 82, of Washington, Iowa died Friday September 7, 2007 at his residence after failing in health for the past three months.

      Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 am Tuesday September 11th at the Jones Eden Funeral Home in Washington with Rev. Darryl Carr officiating. Visitation will begin noon Monday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 Monday Evening. Interment with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #29 will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa.       Howard was born September 7, 1925 in Washington County, Iowa the son of Omer D. and Rachel (Rudolph) Long. He attended country school near Rubio, Iowa and later graduated from Richland High School. On October 29, 1948 Howard was united in marriage to Shirley I. Arnold in Independence, Iowa.
