Hygiene 'Jean' E. Morrison

Hygiene "Jean" E. Morrison, 82, of 405 South Main St. in Danville died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Elliott Chapel in New London with the Rev. Dan Buck officiating. Interment will be in Long Creek Cemetery in Danville. Friends may call from noon until 8 p.m. Friday, April 21 at Elliott Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening. A memorial has been established to the Danville Fire Department.

Mrs. Morrison was born Jan. 29, 1918, in Moulton, the daughter of Henry G. and Mary Olive McLaughlin Carter. She married Homer Raymond "Bill" Morrison on March 20, 1937. She was a homemaker and helped with Morrison Trucking from 1951 until she and her husband retired. She was Past President of the VFW Post 7641 Auxillary.

Survivors include her husband of Danville; one son, Gerald D. Morrison of Burlington; one daughter, Marlene M. DeMarlie of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; four sisters; an infant son; and one niece that was raised with her as a sister.
