KALONA ? Ida M. (Miller) Mullet, 91, of Kalona, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, in Mercy Hospital Hospice in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Fairview Conservative Mennonite Church in rural Kalona with the Rev. Conrad Hertzler, the Rev. Perry L. Miller and the Rev. John Hershberger officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8, and from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the church. A memorial fund has been established for the Fairview Church and Iowa City Hospice. Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Mullet was born Feb. 10, 1925, at the family home in Kalona, the daughter of Mahlon J. and Maggie (Miller) Gingerich. She married Marion W. Miller on Oct. 29, 1946. He preceded her in death. She married Simon Mullet on Jan. 1, 1983, at the Fairview Church.
She was a member of the Fairview Church, and enjoyed piecing quilts, gardening and socializing. Her family was very important to her, and she cherished time spent with them. She enjoyed life and was a compassionate, caring person who lived out her faith and spent many hours praying for her family and community.
Surviving are six children, Nelson Miller and wife Carol of Kalona, Melvin Miller and wife Luann of Kalona, Morris Miller and wife Diana of Riverside, Dale ?Bud? Miller and wife Audrey of Iowa City, Neva Yutzy and husband Luke of Plain City, Ohio, and Norma Miller and husband Steve of Wellman; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Schrock of Kalona; one sister-in-law, Dorothea Gingerich of Kalona; three stepchildren, Gary Mullet and wife Charlene of Kansas City, Missouri, Wanda Rediger and husband Larry of Wellman, and Letha Yoder and husband Sheldon of Kalona; one stepdaughter-in-law, Pat Strabala and husband Jerry of Washington; one stepson-in-law, Jeff Leach of Kalona; 17 step-grandchildren; 45 step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marion; her husband Simon; nine siblings, Katie Mast, Lizzie Gingerich, Ollie Hochstedler, Linus Gingerich, Cora Yoder, Eldora Mast, Maynard Gingerich, Jacob Gingerich, and Iva Gingerich; and two stepchildren, Dene Mullet, and Catherine Leach.
