Ila 'Pat' Smith

Ila Irene "Pat" Smith, 87, of Keokuk, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, at River Hills Village Care Unit in Keokuk.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Kimzey Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with family present from 3 to 5 p.m.; a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Joseph Phung officiating. Burial will be at St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the American Lung Association.

She was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Burnside, Ill., the daughter of James and Jessie Cushman Patterson. On Jan. 19, 1941, she married Karl Smith in Wilmington, Del.
