Ina F. Manning

      Ina F. Manning, 82, of Fairfield, died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at the Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield.

      The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Rich George officiating. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery north of Rome. Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the White Oak Cemetery Fund or the Free Methodist Church.

      Mrs. Manning was born Oct. 14, 1918, in Rome, the daughter of Edward and Anna Messer Sammons. She married Richard Orval Manning on July 6, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo., who preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2000. She lived most of her life in the Fairfield area and was raised and educated in the White Oak community north of Rome. She worked as a grocery clerk for Cole?s Grocery and Mayn?s Super Market in Fairfield before her retirement. She was a homemaker and a member of the Free Methodist Church of Fairfield.

      Survivors include nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.
