Ina Rae Gappa, 85, of Wilton, Iowa, formerly of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, at her home. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will take place at a later date in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.

Ina was born in Washington, Iowa on July 25, 1937, the daughter of Ernest and Helen (Kimmel) Leyden. She married James Morrison on August 25, 1955, in Washington. James died on April 20, 1985. She later married Edwin Gappa on August 14, 1988, in Wilton. Ed died on October 9, 2013.
Ina loved working as a nurses aide at the Wilton Nursing Home for many years. She was also a custodian for the Wilton Elementary, until retiring. Ina was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Muscatine. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening. Most of all, Ina cherished her family.
Ina will be dearly missed by her four children, Penny (Rocky) Johnston of Muscatine, James (Linda) Morrison of Wilton, Lisa (Dennis) Morey of Wilton and Brian Morrison of Durant; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Skidmore, Jamie Walker, Joey Stover, Maggie Johnston, Susan McElderry, Jeremy Barney, Melinda Lisk, Cody Knerr and James Morrison; twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; three brothers, Kim (Joan) Leyden, Roger Leyden, both of Washington, and Eric (Sherry) Leyden of Ottumwa, Iowa; three sisters, Jean (John) Sliekers of Waterloo, Treva Kilgore of Washington and Kathy (Keith) Sulzner of Iowa City; and many nieces and nephews.
Ina was preceded in death by her husbands, James L. Morrison and Ed Gappa; two grandsons, Christopher Knerr and Josh Morrison; twin great-grandsons, Brandon and Bradley Stover; three brothers, Phil Leyden, Jim Leyden and Mike Leyden; and two sisters, Mary Davidson and Cheri Sapp.
