Inez Ester McAllister

Inez Ester McAllister, 79, of Kalona, formerly of Washington, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after failing in health for the past month.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington with the Rev. Steven Koch officiating. No visitation is scheduled. A private family interment will take place at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for the Iowa City Hospice. The Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington is in charge of the arrangements.

Ms. McAllister was born Nov. 5, 1928, in East St. Louis, Ill., the daughter of Robert Brown and Ester Meryne (Hall) McAllister. She married Robert Arthur Lomen on June 10, 1949 in Decorah.
