Iola M. Bales

      Iola M. Bales, 87, of Keosauqua, died at 6:45 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2008, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

      A funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bryon Wixom officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.

      Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

      Memorials to Keosauqua United Methodist Church or Van Buren County Hospital may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 29879 Fir Ave., Cantril 52542.

      Mrs. Bales was born Sept. 20, 1920, south of Cantril, the daughter of Roy and Effie Daniels Kirkhart. She married Charles E. Bales April 4, 1964, at Methodist Church in Monmouth, Ill. He preceded her in death.
