Ivan Verland Jarvis

    Ivan Verland Jarvis, 94, of Washington, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, in his residence following a brief illness.

    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Julie Poulsen officiating.  Burial with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post 29 will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.  Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m.  A memorial has been established to the Central Park Fountain Maintenance Fund.

    Mr. Jarvis was born Aug. 9, 1915, in Crawfordsville, the son of Fred and Leafa (Lease) Jarvis.  He married Betty Evans.  He later married Louise Belle Thompson on April 22, 1964, in Fairfield.
