Jack Bonham, 93, of Washington, Iowa, died Monday, December 6, 2021,
at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday,
December 10, 2021, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with services officiated by Jack's grandson, Tim Crawford. The family will
be present to receive friends from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Friday morning. Interment will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois. Memorials have been established for House of Heroes. Online condolences may be sent for Jack's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.
Jack was born February 29, 1928, in Terry County, Texas, the son of Carl J. and Della B. (Holly) Bonham. He attended school in Texas and graduated from Seagraves High School in 1945. Jack enlisted in the United States Army in September of 1950, where he served honorably until January of 1954. He was united in marriage to Lois M. Fetrow on August 19, 1951, in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. She passed away in 1977. Jack later married Lucille K. Smith on October 7, 1978, in Washington, Iowa.
Jack was an accountant working for Dowell Division of Dow Chemical Company for 25 years. He later worked in the Seifert's accounting department for ten years. He was a member of the Washington American Legion Post 29 and the Church of Christ, where he served as the part time minister since 1960. Jack loved spreading the Gospel and singing.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille "Lucy" Bonham of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Judy Bonham of Sallisaw, OK; daughter, Lesa Bonham of Taylorsville, UT; step-daughter, Beverly Parsons and husband Gary of Wapello, IA; step-son, Stephen Smith and wife Kathy of Bakersfield, CA; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Lois M. Bonham; parents; stepmother, seven brothers and three sisters.
